I discovered recently just how much there is on offer at Hitchin Library and via its online site: www.hertsdirect.org.uk/services/libraries
You can reserve books to collect later, renew existing loan items and search a number of databases of really useful information. For most of them, you have to have a library card and PIN, but those are easily accessible either at the library itself or online.
The latest enewsletter gives you plenty of ideas and also a link to joining online, if you're not already a member. just go to: http://libraries.hertscc.gov.uk/october-2012/home/book-news
If you're interested in local history, family history, want to find out more about the local council and developments in the town or want to read ebooks or search for a specific poem, there's loads of resources. So go online or go to the library itself, on Paynes Park. I did - don't get left behind!
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
