It's justly fitting that our Town Centre Manager, Keith Hoskins, last week received his MBE from the Queen. He leads a great team who proved their worth again this weekend.
We had Brickfest as the Bricklayers Arms (in aid of Rhythms of the World) and the Hitchin Vaisakhi Procession bought music, food and celebration to the town centre.
Then there were the local representatives of political parties, setting out their stalls (literally) in the Market Place to inform voters.
And Sunday saw the Market Place full with a Bouncy Castle and an open air church, live music and face painting.
Hitchin is a special place and anyone still in doubt can't have been in the town this weekend.
Congratulations to Keith Hoskins and the Hitchin Initiative team.
And don't forget that if you missed Brickfest, you should buy your tickets for Rhythms of the World 20 & 21 June 2015 - they're on sale today
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
