The sun is shining (18 degrees today and it's nearly November!) so it's great to get out and about.
Oughtonhead Common today was ringing with the sounds of happy children and dogs but there's lots more places to walk.
I was so distressed at the sight of the former allotments behind Samuel Lucas (which always made a great cut-through on our dog walks) that I couldn't photograph it. It's just been bulldozed and I really hope the school makes excellent use of it, year round, as the allotment holders used to.
Anyway, there will be a new footpath there sometime in mid December (although this was original scheduled to begin back in March). For now, if you want to find out more about where to walk in and around Hitchin, there's a great map on the Hitchin Forum website.
