Members of Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary Club will be on the market square with a mystery gift tombola
The main thrust of the day will be the sale of the Tilehouse Purple4Polio re usable shopping bags containing purple crocus bulbs.
The pricing is as follows:-
A shopping bag and 50 bulbs for £7 A Shopping bag and 100 bulbs for £9
A Shopping bad and 150 bulbs for £10
The target is to raise £1000 and, if successful, it will be matched by the equivalent sum, donated by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation.
The colour purple was chosen to represent the purple ink used to identify the children who have been immunised, it is also the colour of one of the most prolific forms of the crocus flower, which grows easily at a time of year which brings new hope after winter.
