If you count Thursday night, this has been an outstanding weekend for Hitchin and it all bodes well for the start of Hitchin Festival next weekend.
Thursday night was Hitchin Street Food Monthly, with a deluge not putting off scores who enjoyed the delicious delights under some well-placed gazebos.
Friday was a day most of us will remember as the UK voted to leave Europe, but North Herts voted to stay in and discussions turned to whether we could declare independence.
On Saturday and Sunday, there was an amazing exhibition of flowers and wedding dresses through the ages at St Mary's Church.
Sunday gave many people - from near and further afield - the chance to run the Hitchin Hard Half Marathon and raise funds for local Scouting along the way.
All in all, more great reasons why we're proud to be part of the Hitchin community and bring you the Best of it every day.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
