A recent meeting of North Herts District Council was reported on The Comet's website today: http://www.thecomet.net/news/20mph_speed_limits_considered_for_hitchin_1_1361240
It's an interesting debate - will lower speed limits make our streets safer for our children and for all of us? Will they slow us down unnecessarily and just annoy people? How about the roads NOT being considered for lower speed limits? How about the streets where the current 30mph limit is abused regularly, especially late at night when there's little chance of being caught?
Take a look at the article and contribute to the debate. Our councillors (and don't forget about the elections on Thursday 3 May) need to know what we think. Let them know.
