Rhythms of the World (ROTW) in Hitchin would like to invite four practicing artists to each create ’an artwork’ on site during the festival weekend in exchange for a free weekend pass, cost of materials and food throughout the event.
Your proposal should relate to the ethos of Rhythms of the World.
Visitors to the festival want to be able to observe the development of a ‘work in progress’ and ‘an artist at work’.
The artist will be allocated a gazebo in the park in which to work.
The artist will need to take the weather into consideration when selecting materials.
ROTW would like to retain the option to purchase the finished Artwork at the end of the festival to add to the ROTW Art Archive but all work needs to be designed to be taken away or deconstructed at the end of the festival.
PROPOSAL
Please submit your proposal under the following headings:
• Title (this will be used in the festival literature)
• Outline the intended idea with a description of the finished outcome.
• Brief outline of the working process
• Approx finished size of Artwork.
• Estimated cost of materials
