If you've got small children, Hitchin Lavender is a great place to take them this summer. Even if it's the sun has taken a break for a few days, this is a gorgeous place to visit.
Hitchin Lavender is just coming into bloom and the gorgeous scents begin now. If you've never used the joys of lavender to help you or excited children sleep, give it a go. It still works for my teenager - 14 years after I first pushed his buggy through a lavender field and wondered why he slept so well.
We're fortunate in having such a great attraction on our doorstep, so give it a visit and pick your own. It's open every day between 10am and 5pm and it's just £4 for adults and £1 for children.
There's even refreshments and a gift shop, as well as great photo-opportunities for budding (geddit?) photographers.

More ideas for days out locally coming soon. Comment with your own ideas and I'll check them out.
