Any new to Hitchin would have loved the buzz of the town centre on Saturday. The sun was shining and stalls in the Market Place were fundraising for some great causes.
The Rotary club were out in force with books, pancakes and mulled wine. The Garden House Hospice had a massive stall and people were meeting their cheeky Charlie Chick, their Easter fundraiser.
The fun continues tomorrow (Shrove Tuesday) when, traditionally, families eat everything tasty, fatty and sugary in their homes before eating more simply in the run-up to Easter.
So, it's pancakes and pans at the ready on Tuesday for the pancake races in aid of the Hospice.
There'll be pancakes and goodies on sale from 9:30am, with the races beginning at 11:30am.
