In this Diamond Jubilee year - and especially when we were missed off the Olympic flame route (www.london2012.com/torch-relay/route) - most of us are getting just a little excited at the prospect of Her Majesty The Queen paying us a visit on Thursday 14 June.
One of the highlights of the day will be a visit to the British Schools Museum in Queen Street (www.britishschoolsmuseum.co.uk) to present volunteers with their latest award. The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. These are people who have put in hours - nay, years in some cases - of their own time to ensure that the buildings were not demolished. Now, they house a tiny piece of history of which our town is rightly proud.
So, who will be the youngest and the oldest residents coming out to cheer on the Queen? Let's hope the rain holds off for us all.
