Hitchin Festival is well under way now and one of the most physical examples is the Secret Garden Yarnbomb installation in St Mary's Churchyard.
Somehow, I expected balls of wool thrown up in the branches, but this is much more organised and much more beautiful.
There are pom poms like the ones I used to make and never knew what to do with. Plus some gorgeous knitted flags.
The community art project is created by Hitchin Stitchin, Wooly Chic, Buttons of Biggleswade and the organisers of Festiwool.
Hitchin Festiwool will be held at North Herts College on Cambridge Road on Saturday, 24 November 2015.
For now, take a look at the wool creations all around St Mary's Church.
Writer and sax player. Brought up in Hitchin and - apart from uni and some ensuing madness of life in London - I've always lived here.
