West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust
The aim of the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust is to provide care and support for children with life-limiting conditions. Those children and their families will be from the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield areas of West Yorkshire.
The trust is currently raising funds to build a house for respite, emergency and end of life care, in Huddersfield.
We need to raise over £3million to build the centre. It is then anticipated that the running costs of the facility will exceed £1.5 million per year.
Community based care teams providing services to children in their own homes will also be part of what we do, as will bereavement support to help during the incredibly difficult time when a child passes away.
The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust will provide all of these services 365 days per year, completely free of charge, to everyone in our communities, irrespective of social, cultural or religious backgrounds.
We are incredibly driven to achieve our objectives. We have already made excellent progress and are well on our way to delivering such vital services.
Volunteering
Why do people want to volunteer? It might be that you have some time on your hands and want to give it to a good cause? You may have retired or have free time in the holidays, in the evening or at a weekend.
Or maybe you have been out of work for a while and need to build your confidence again. Volunteering is a great way to do this – you will have some fun, make new friends at the same time as doing something very worthwhile. It looks great on your CV too.
Potential volunteers may have many work-related skills, life experiences and useful ideas which could make a real difference to the success of the West Yorkshire Forget me Not Trust.
Whether you can spare a regular commitment of a few hours each week, an occasional hour here and there, a block of time for a project or just want to work on an ad hoc basis – we would love to hear from you.

Fundraising
The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust is currently raising funds to provide a house for respite, emergency and end-of-life care and community based services to children who have life-limiting illnesses. Every time you buy a piece of merchandise, visit one of our shops or attend one of our events you take us one step closer to that goal. The generosity of individuals, groups and local businesses never ceases to amaze us.
You may wish to join our Weekly Prize Draw, do a sponsored event, come to one of our events or just pop a few pennies in one of our collecting tubs located all over West Yorkshire.
Some of the ways in which we raise funds are tried and tested methods that we know you all love – but fundraising evolves too – did you know that there are smart ways of raising funds for us – some where you don’t even have to put your hand in your pocket. Next time you have a clear out and have items that you no longer want, why not take them to one of our charity shops? What if you can’t get to one of our shops? Then click on www.jumbleaid.co.uk - sell your item and nominate us to receive the proceeds.
We really do appreciate everything you do to help us and remember that our fundraising team is here to help you.
