WHAT’S ON IN HUNTINGDON AND ST IVES THIS WEEKEND
There are lots going on this weekend from Christmas arts and crafts, to performing arts performances and lots in between. Take a look below to find something that takes your fancy.
Weekend long events.
Join Huntingdon Youth Theatre for this years winter performance. This year sees the timeless classic; The Snow Queen come to Huntingdon Commemoration Hall. With a performance each night starting at 7.30pm from Wednesday 30th November until Saturday 3rd December.
Take the children to pass on their wish lists to Father Christmas at St Ives Corn Exchange as this weekend kicks off the first of 6 sessions of Santa’s Grotto. Santa will be in his grotto every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd – 18th December 12pm – 3pm. This Saturday will se Santa arrive in style by boat at 11am. Entry to see him is FREE and each child receives a gift.
Not only are there some great weekend long events for you to enjoy there is also some fantastic 'one day only' events all happening on your doorstep.
Friday 2nd December.
End your week by enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee at The A14 Networking at The Taproom, St Ives, and meet other local businesses.
After networking pop over to St Ives Corn Exchange, for the Country Market, or Huntingdon’s Farmers Market, for a range of homemade, home grown local produce.
Saturday 3rd December
Visit Huntingdon town for their bi-weekly market, or St Ives Farmers Market for fresh, local produce.
Join Hinchingbrooke Country Park and make your very own basket at their Willow and Hedgerow Basket Making Workshop. Spend the day weaving and winding your very own basket using this traditional method. Suitable for all levels, from ages 14years and up.
Enjoy a wander around Huntingdon Commemoration Hall’s Christmas Craft Fair this Saturday. Whether it is something handmade, something vintage or anything in between you are bound to find something that sparks your fancy.
Join the Wildlife Trust Centre as they bring the past into the present in ‘What the Dickens – Family Event’. Packed full of crafts and activities for all of the family.
Join Chatteris as they start the countdown to Christmas with their Christmas Light Switch on. With fair rides, food stalls, Santa’s grotto and much more. Lights get turned on at 4.30pm.
Sunday 4th December
Visit Samuel Pepys School, Huntingdon, for an afternoon of live music from Steve Lockwood, and enjoy a lovely Sunday Meal.
Join Little Acre Kitchen and Clair and Julia form Flower Fairies as they host their second Christmas Wreath Making workshop. Make your own special decoration for your door.
Enjoy an evening of great music in a great location, at St Mary’s Church Huntingdon, at the Harmonia Singers & The Moonlight Mandolin Orchestra concert. Starting at 7pm, tickets are £6 and all proceeds go to Oxfam.
