WHAT’S ON IN HUNTINGDON AND ST IVES THIS WEEKEND
There are lots going on this weekend from Christmas arts and crafts, to performing arts performances and lots in between. Take a look below to find something that takes your fancy.
Weekend long events.
Take the children to pass on their wish lists to Father Christmas at St Ives Corn Exchange as this weekend kicks off the first of 6 sessions of Santa’s Grotto. Santa will be in his grotto every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd – 18th December 12pm – 3pm. Entry to see him is FREE and each child receives a gift.
Join master storyteller Martin Prest at The Manor Hemingford Grey, as he brings to life the Christmas classic that is A Christmas Carol. Doors open at 7.30pm for a 8pm start on both Thursday 8th and Friday 9th December.
Panto season comes to Huntingdon Commemoration Hall with the help of KD Theatre as they bring to life the panto classic Aladdin. This fantastic performance will leave your eyes, and ears gleaming with joy. Starting from Friday 9th December and running until Sunday 18th December, with several shows throughout the day.
What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to have a wander around Wood Green Animal Shelter as they host Oakleigh Christmas Arts, Food and Drink Fair. Sample and buy some delicious Christmas food and drink or buy a beautiful gift for somebody else or yourself. The fair will be open from 10am – 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Not only are there some great weekend long events for you to enjoy there is also some fantastic 'one day only' events all happening on your doorstep.
Friday 9th December.
End your week by enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee at The A14 Networking at The Taproom, St Ives, and meet other local businesses.
After networking pop over to St Ives Corn Exchange, for the Country Market for a range of homemade, home grown local produce.
Spend the evening enjoying some fantastic music whilst raising money for charity at The Town Mayors Charity Christmas Concert. Music will be provided to you by RAF Wyton Area Voluntary Band and Brampton Military Wives Choir. Tickets are available from the Town Hall and are £10 each.
Saturday 10th December
Visit Huntingdon town for their bi-weekly market for fresh, local produce.
Enjoy a glamorous evening dancing the night away at the Burgess Hall as they host ‘The Roaring Twenties Christmas Ball’. With a traditional 3 course Christmas Dinner followed by coffee and mince pies, and entertainment provided by the live swing band ‘That Old Swing Thing’ and a festive disco by Starlight Roadshow. Doors open at 7pm, meal starts at 8pm.
Sunday 11th December
Join The Raptor Foundation for one of their ever popular Twilight Flying evenings. In this festive evening, you will get to see the magical birds fly in twilight, you may even get the chance to fly one yourself. You will be treated to a delicious 2 course Christmas dinner in the festively decorated tearoom.
