WHAT’S ON IN HUNTINGDON AND ST IVES THIS WEEKEND
It's the last weekend before Christmas and to help you get the Christmas fever take a look at what your local area has in store for you this weekend.
Weekend long events.
Take the children to pass on their wish lists to Father Christmas at St Ives Corn Exchange as this weekend kicks off the first of 6 sessions of Santa’s Grotto. Santa will be in his grotto every Saturday and Sunday from 3rd – 18th December 12pm – 3pm. Entry to see him is FREE and each child receives a gift.
Join Robert Lloyd Parry as he tells Ghost Stories by Candlelight in the 900 year old music room of The Manor, Hemingford Grey. The stories include ‘Casting the Runes’ and ‘The Residence at Whitminster’, on Friday, ‘Canon Alberic’s Scrapbook’ and ‘The Mezzotint’ on Saturday, and ‘O Whistle’ and ‘The Ash Tree’ on Sunday. Tickets are £17.50 and include a glass of wine. Fantastic stories with a great atmosphere.
Panto season comes to Huntingdon Commemoration Hall with the help of KD Theatre as they bring to life the panto classic Aladdin. This fantastic performance will leave your eyes, and ears gleaming with joy. Starting from Friday 9th December and running until Sunday 18th December, with several shows throughout the day.
Not only are there some great weekend long events for you to enjoy there is also some fantastic 'one day only' events all happening on your doorstep.
Friday 16th December.
End your week by enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee at The A14 Networking at The Taproom, St Ives, and meet other local businesses.
After networking pop over to St Ives Corn Exchange, for the Country Market or Huntingdon Farmers Market, for a range of homemade, home grown local produce.
Saturday 17th December
Visit Huntingdon town for their bi-weekly market, or St Ives Farmers Market for fresh, local produce.
Join Huntingdonshire Philharmonic Group, as they host this years Family Christmas Concert. Get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy an evening of great musical entertainment with a Feast of Festive Carols.
For another musical evening join Huntingdon Male Voice Choir for their Christmas Concert. Help raise money for MAGPASS Air Ambulance and enjoy a great evening. Tickets are £15 / concessions £12.
Sunday 18th December
Take the children to enjoy a Festive Story with Santa, at Hinchingbrooke Country Park. Visit Santa in his magical grotto, enjoy a group chat with Santa himself and listen to the festive tale. Each child will then receive a small gift from one of Santa’s Elves. You will also get a voucher for a warm juice and cake for the children and a cup of tea/coffee for the grownup. Booking closes at 3pm on Thursday 15th December, and cost £9 per child.
Join Wood Green Animal Shelter as they host their ever-popular Toy Collectors Fair, by J&J Fairs. J&J Webb Fairs are back at Wood Green with a collection of great collectables including, Corgi, Efe Matchbox, Hornby, military vehicle and much, much more.
