So what's going on in Islington for Bonfire night and Halloween. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is going to be a fireworks display this year again. It seems that the once annual event is not returning to Islington again at least I've not being able to find any mention of one and as it was cancelled last time due to budget. My guess is the council have decided not to bother again this year. Which is a shame as they seem very happy to spend £6,000 on taking 7 members of a residents panel with councillors on a training day in the country even though there are plenty of great venues in Islington. Wouldn't it be better to spend that money in the borough!
Anyway enough of a moan from me. There are other options for fireworks with a little travel. The closest this year seems to be Victoria Park. No official confirmation yet but seems it will be going ahead. I'll keep you updated when I hear.
As always with Islington there is a huge choice of parties and events been held in venues around the borough. Keep an eye on my events page to see them as they get added www.thebestof.co.uk/local/islington/events
