Well worth a visit! Enjoyed the tour (quite personal as we were the only ones on it!) and definitely worth doing it to get a taste of the wine, cider and brandy! Note you can get the number 7 bus as well as the 28 here!

Very nice little vineyard, the wine tour is not the longest or most in-depth but works well, and ends with tastings on the various products the vineyard produces. The on-site restaurant is also cozy and if the weather permits you can sit outside at the grapevines and eat the food.

The welcome on arrival was good and a sample of their cider was provided. Cafe was lovely and clean with good coffee. Toilets use rainwater for flushing which is novel and green. The tour was enjoyable and the wine tasting was a good experience. The creamy liqueur in a chocolate cup provided at the end was a lovely treat. And yes the Black Butter does smell of Christmas.

1/2 day well spent in the north-west of jersey
very informative talks & tastings + more than a bit of history.
wine, gin, vodka, jersey 'black butter', chocolate + chutneys / sauces.
there's a shop at the end of your visit + cafe too.
restored jersey farmhouse (5 windows upstairs + 2 either side of the central front door) - nice gardens too; this place is well worth a visit (especially if you take the lanes rather than the main roads).

Charming place outside the hustle and bustle of the city.
Unfortunately, we didn't have time to taste the pastries which looked delicious (too bad) because we took the guided tour.
The guide was pleasant but unfortunately we didn't understand anything because the tour is mainly in English and our level of understanding is very low....
Too bad because the people participating in the visit seemed very interested in what he said and laughed a lot.
We still tasted their wines at the end of the visit, uhhh our wines have nothing to envy them...

Some nice wines that they keep on the island. Baught a few bottles and they make local Jersey Black Butter which is full of Christmas flavours too.

We were rather disappointed with our visit. To learn anything about the place you have to go on an organised and rather expensive tour. They only leave periodically so there would have been quite a wait.
The cafe is rather expensive, the staff lack engagement with the customers and the food was just OK, so overall not good value for money.

If you only visit one place on the island of Jersey make it La Mare Wine Estate. You arrive amongst fields of vines and orchards of apples. Parking is plentiful with beautiful hydrangeas all around. Our first co tact was with Steve who greated us and gave us a cider sample to start our journey. We had time to kill until the tour started and chose to walk the vineyards and orchards. After a cold drink in the cafe we met Steve who began our tour giving us some history of the estate. He then handed over to Graham who conducted the rest of the tour. You will see how they make all the alcohol products and the food products on the tour, it's incredibly interesting and finishes with a few samples to wet your appetite. The shop is well stocked with tasters so expect to part with some cash because everything is so tasty. The whole experience was fantastic and great value for money. Take time to enjoy the gardens and make sure you buy some salted caramel chocolates they are amazing. This eco friendly estate offers a lot for the money and a thoroughly great couple of hours.
