The Notting Hill Carnival will start earlier this August, in an attempt to get all the floats around the neighbourhood before nightfall. To make the event safer, London Notting Hill Carnival has asked Kensington and Chelsea Council for a 9am start. This will ensure that the 138 vehicles due to be in the carnival processions will complete the route before it gets dark. The Carnival takes place on Sunday 30th August and Monday, 31st August (bank holiday).
