Jacob Anslow is a 13-year-old Kart Racer from Kettering and has progressed successfully to full size karts in the junior categories racing kids up to the age of 16.

Jacob has been racing since he was 7 years old when he started in Bambino Karts at Whilton Mill Kart Track. Now racing a 125cc Rotax 2 stroke kart in the Junior Kart Championship at different tracks all over the UK hitting speeds of 65mph.

Jacobs father Mike says 'It started in 2017 when we entered Jacob into the Bambino Kart Club championship. Race 1 day 1 consisted of a kart, a can of fuel and a clueless dad with a Halfords spanner set and can of WD40. I'm still not sure how it happened, but he left that weekend with his first trophy and a few months later he had his first race win at Shennington kart circuit'.

2018 was a bit of a breakthrough year. Jacob’s progress attracted the support of the British Touring Car Team ‘Power Maxed Racing’ and this in turn got him some publicity in the local newspapers. 2019 meant it was now time for Jacob to take the next step up and gain his Motor Sport Association licence. This meant he could be entering race weekends where the best drivers in the UK would compete.

Jacob has continued to develop finding help from Billy Albone, owner of Albone Racing Developments. 2021 he continued to work with Albone Racing Developments in three championships racing the best drivers from the UK and abroad.

In 2022 financial restrictions meant we were not able to run with the team and continued to race as a privateer with dad on the spanners. Jacob continued to work hard and improve working his way up the grid to end the year 4th overall with multiple podiums and trophies.

So what can we do to help Jacob develop even further?

It is no secret that competing in motorsport brings with it a financial commitment. The days of being talent spotted at a local track and fully financed by a team are very rare. The F1 grid and even the karting grids these days are full of drivers and wealthy parents.

It is an unavoidable situation where we must now attract the generosity of a sponsor or face the prospect of retiring from the sport.
Mike says 'we are realistic as to Jacob’s talent and potential, as is he, but to not be able to see how far he can go is gutting'.

So how about becoming a sponsor?

By splitting the costs of the expert support, we need it gives all drivers access to the data and training needed to move to the front.

Our plan for 2024 has now been set and a proposed budget produced. To be able to race at this level is reliant on financial assistance through sponsorship.

The full cost of our 2024 season is an estimated £6559.36. This covers race entry, practice days, tyres, race fuel, accommodation, travel expenses and the most important thing moving forward – A racing coach who can provide data analysis, camera analysis, kart set up and race craft advice.

Full or part sponsorship can really help.

In Return we can offer:
- Increased awareness of your company and brand.
- Sponsors company logo / brand to be displayed on kart, teamwear and race suit.
- Exposure of business during live broadcasts on Kart Live TV to a local and international audience by way of logo on kart.
- Promotion and acknowledgement of business during any interviews and promotional work that may arise. Often drivers are interviewed before and after races.
- Promotion and acknowledgement on social media.
- A huge welcome at every race weekend
- Opportunity to support and nurture local talent.
- Sponsorship of this kind may be deductible against tax.
