A curry night at Voujon in King's Lynn has raised over £600 for the Mayor's Charity, The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House.
The event, which took place in June at Voujon Indian Restaurant, Railway Road, King's Lynn, was organised by the Mayor's Charity committee and staff from the restaurant. A cheque for the proceeds from the evening, totalling £630, was presented to Borough Mayor Cllr Colin Sampson and his Deputy Mayor, Cllr Elizabeth Watson, on 21 July.
On being presented with the cheque, the mayor said: "We had a very successful and enjoyable Curry evening at the Voujon Restaurant and I am delighted to receive a donation of £630 for my charity, The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House. My thanks to Mohammed Farooq and his staff for putting on such a great evening and for this tremendous contribution to the fund."
He added: "For those who missed out this time and for those who want "seconds" I am reliably informed that there will be another evening before too long!"
