DANCE CUTS WEEKEND 2013
Friday 1st - Saturday 2nd March
Including: CANDOCO DANCE THEATRE: TURNING 20 + DANCE CUTS SHOWCASE 2013
Friday 1st March marks the start of Live at LICA’s Dance Cuts Weekend 2013, a jam-packed programme where students and young artists can take part in workshops, perform short extracts of their work to a professional panel as well as find out what it takes to make it in the world of dance.
Making it Happen in Dance, taking place on Saturday 2nd March, sees an expert panel of practitioners, including Stine Nilson, Kip Johnson and Company Chameleon, providing advice on what it takes to become a professional dancer, choreographer or dance producer/manager, and offering tips for survival in the sector. Dance Jam will provide an opportunity for everyone taking part in the weekend to dance together.
Later on, the Dance Cuts Showcase features a fantastic range of dance film, installation and contemporary choreography from the North West presented in association with Ludus Dance.
If you are interested in creating your own work, learning more about becoming, or developing as a professional artist and want to see some world class dance alongside the best new work created in the North West, then you can book tickets via www.liveatlica.org or by calling 01524 594151.
Candoco Dance Company kick off the weekend on Friday 1st at 8pm with a triple-bill evening that celebrates 20 years of bold and unexpected dance work from the company of disabled and non-disabled dancers.
