A bumper crowd of dogs and their owners were drawn by the good weather to Ryelands Park this Sunday (13th July) for the Annual Family Day Out and Fun Dog Show run by Wolfwood Animal Rescue in Lancaster.
The Dog Show, initiated and sponsored by Kirsty's Pet Clinic five years ago, was created as a means of raising awareness of the work at Wolfwood and has fast expanded to become a very popular and well supported event which raises much needed funds.
A variety of animal related stalls, side events and amusements including pony rides, bungee trampolines and fairground rides kept the crowds entertained as the Dog Show with twenty classes progressed throughout the afternoon.
The winner (and owners) of the Best in Show had travelled from near Darwen in Lancashire to take part and support the event and returning home with 3 rosettes was a bonus.
Event MC Dave Morgan from the 'thebestof Lancaster', did an excellent job of keeping the crowd well informed of everything going on and the overwhelming feedback is one of a very happy and friendly day with loads of dogs showing off their best behaviour.
Many of the dogs attending had previously been abandoned or given up for adoption and rehomed through Wolfwood and it was encouraging to chat and catch up on their progress.

Wolfwood not only rehomes dogs, but works alongside the RSPCA, local vets, Police and public with the recovery, care and release of injured and displaced wildlife.
