The coveted Building Awards were held on 18th April at the glamorous Grosvenor Hotel at Park Lane, London. The awards recognise the leading construction specialists across the UK. Comedian Jason Manford hosted the event where EOS Energy's parent company Alumet collected the Cut the Carbon Award. Alumet's National Construction Manager Blake Summers collected the award in front of a packed house of 1500 industry leaders.
The award recognised Alumet's commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. Not only have the company expanded their products and services to include renewable technologies and energy management services but they have led by example by refurbishing their facilities with Schuco's latest highly insulative cladding technology as well as installing a 500 unit PV array to provide power to their operations.
Blake Summers commented "It is an honour to collect this award in front of the industries finest companies. Alumet are proud to not only offer low carbon technologies but also to practice what we preach by ensuring our own operations create the minimum impact on the environment."
Blake attended with his father, Alumet's CEO Gary Summers, famous in the industry for his trademark green jackets! All three of Gary's children work in the business (Gary other son Lee is Technical Director while his daughter Alex is Account Manager) and he is proud of the company's family ethos. Gary commented "It a great testament to family businesses that Alumet have received this coveted award. It shows that true family values can be withheld in large, successful businesses, a fact of which I am very proud of."
Alumet will be showcasing their products and services at their open day in Southam, Warwickshire on 6th July, including their latest offerings of living green wall cladding, air source heat pumps, solar thermal and solar PV.
