A Leamington Spa care home is calling on the local community to donate essential clothing and items to help the homeless as cold weather hits the Midlands.
Residents at Care UK’s Priors House, on Old Milverton Lane, are collecting warm clothing to help the homeless during the colder, winter months and are asking local people to drop off any items which could help the cause.
The team and residents from the home will then visit local group, Leamington Night Shelter, on Wednesday 27th February to drop off the donations.
Hosted by Radford Road Church, the night shelter provides hot meals, shelter and a safe place for homeless and vulnerable people.
As part of the home’s commitment to creating a strong link with the local community, the residents at the home are looking forward to building a relationship with the group.
Francine Summers, home manager at Priors House, said: “Here at Priors House we’re always looking at ways to get involved and support the local community.
“When the team and residents found out about the work and support Leamington Night Shelter offers homeless people living in Leamington Spa we wanted to help, and so we’re collecting warm clothing, duvets and pillows, and books and games.
“If anyone would like to donate to our collection, please do pop into the home and see our reception team. We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their donations.”
