A Leamington Spa care home has donated essential clothing and bedding items to help homeless people as stormy weather continues to hit the Midlands.

Residents at Care UK’s Priors House, on Old Milverton Lane, called on the generosity of its community neighbours to collect waterproof and warm clothing, for donation to local group, Leamington Night Shelter.

Hosted by Radford Road Church, the night shelter provides hot meals, shelter and a safe place for homeless and vulnerable people, which is so vital at this time of year.

Francine Summers, home manager at Priors House, said: “So much of what we do here at Priors House is about supporting our local community, so we’re delighted that local people have been so forthcoming and generous with their donations of clothing and bedding, so that we have been able to supply these essential items to the Night Shelter cause.”

Priors House is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, coffee shop and hair salon, with plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
