Celebrity chef and ethical pioneer Raymond Blanc presented the Alumet Group with a unique double at the recent Sustainable City Awards.
Alumet not only collected the award in the Environmental Management category, but went on to be announced as the overall winner - the best of the best!
The prestigious awards are staged by the City of London Corporation and this year's winners were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Mansion House in London. Unfortunately current resident London mayor Boris Johnson was on oversees business and couldn't be present, however his deputy Simon Mills - Head of Sustainability at the City of London Corporation had this to say "Alumet have rolled their sleeves up and got stuck in to sustainability, they have thrown down the green gauntlet and inspired other organisations to spearhead sustainability, the awards are thoroughly deserved"
The Warwickshire based specialist facade and renewable energy company are making big noises in the city of late, in January Alumet were granted a parliamentary reception in recognition of their sustainability drive and they have been short listed in no less than six categories at the forthcoming CN Specialists Awards to be held at the Hilton, Park Lane.
Alumet Director Dean Walton said "This is a fantastic start to our 20th anniversary year, the celebrations will be shared with our staff and stakeholders at our charity eco-day on 6th July when a new retrofit facade will be unveiled at their Southam headquarters"
The Sustainable City Awards are a national feeder scheme to the European Business Awards for the Environment, Alumet will now be put forward to represent the UK, giving them international recognition.
