EOS Energy's Technical Director Lee Summers received a coveted award recently at the Coventry & Warwickshire FirstPro Awards, held at the Ricoh Arena. This is the fourth year of the awards which recognise the talent within the professional sectors across the region.

Lee collected his award for Sustainable Professional of the Year in front of a packed audience of 260 industry leaders. The host of the event was broadcaster Stuart Linnell MBE with a guest speech from Chris Hughes, creator of Top Gear Live.

Lee's award recognised his successful leadership of EOS Energy, a new division at parent company Alumet which has seen the manufacturing and construction specialist successfully diversify into renewable technologies. This diversification has seen the company continue to grow during a tough time in the economy. Lee was also commended for his commitment to training which has seen him build on his degree with a Masters in Environmental Management and the Built Environment.

Lee commented "To be awarded this accolade in front of the industry leaders of my home town is a huge thrill and one I'm very proud of. I work with a great team at Alumet who have all worked tirelessly to ensure we continue to grow and succeed throughout the recession. I'd like to share this award with them!"

The judging panel for the awards was made up of Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, Ian Harrabin, of Complex Development Projects, and Phil Ewing, director at Harrison Beale & Owen and chairman of Coventry and Warwickshire First.

Phil Ewing commented “The standard of the nominees this year really underlined the diverse range of professional services on offer in Coventry and Warwickshire and the remarkable standard to which they are delivered. Lee really stood out with a level of commitment that is an inspiration to us all. His accolade is very well deserved.”

Another Alumet Director Dean Walton was also a finalist in the Business Services category.
