Last year 15million people tuned in to watch Sir Bradley Wiggins receive this much coveted award from the Duchess of Cambridge.
This year Leeds is the host city of this very special 60th anniversary show.
At first glance it’s a very different year to 2012; there have been no Olympics, Paralympics or even major football tournament so it seems no obvious winners.
But cast your mind back to earlier this year and recall the great British triumphs of Wimbledon, the Tour de France, the summer Ashes and the US open. Not to mention the numerous athletics, horse racing and sailing events.
The shortlist comprises a who’s who of British sport in 2013 and it could be any one of these:
The awards are hosted by Gaby Logan in Leeds very own First Direct Arena. With a capacity of 12,000 people there’s certainly room for a celebration of this size.
Voting opens by phone or online with the numbers for each of the 10 contenders released during the show.
Who’s it going to be?!
I'm passionate about local business and a champion for what's great about Leeds.
