Leicestershire-based pro Anders Mankert has just been given the accolade of The Most Loved Tuition Business in the UK for 2011 by business website www.thebestof.co.uk Over 16,000 UK businesses were nominated and thanks to his reviews, he came out top of the pile in teaching.
But it is not just for golf. Any person in the tuition profession, whether it be in music or sport, was eligible for the award, so it is a huge honour for the 37 year-old Swedish-born PGA pro.
“I’m delighted, and knew nothing about it, as it is purely judged on feedback from my pupils. I suppose I must be doing something right” says the Cosby Golf Club Head Pro. It adds to his growing list of achievements including being voted in the UK’s Top 40 Teaching Pros by influential Today’s Golfer Magazine.
Much of Anders’ success is down to his new state of the art teaching and club flitting studio at Cosby, which features an innovative video camera system capable of shooting 200 frames per second, so you can see your improving swing in ultra slow motion and compare it to the greats of the game. It is the only one of its kind in the UK and Anders believes that it’s an amazing tool: “The images make it very easy to explain a fault to someone and for them to see their improvement over time. It gives my pupils great belief that they’re on the right track and not just taking my word for it.”
