The newest addition to the city’s dining scene, the restaurant is located within the newly refurbished ground floor of the Mercure Leicester, The Grand Hotel on Granby Street.
Welcoming over 400 guests, including the Mayor, former Leicester City football legend Steve Walsh and former Ireland and Tigers full back, Geordan Murphy, who cut the specially made Marco’s cake, the restaurant served a selection of canapés reflecting its American-Italian cuisine. The event also served as a charity fundraiser in aid of Breast Cancer care, with raffle proceeds totaling £1370.
James Conaghan, General Manager said: “I’m thrilled at the turnout for our launch. The restaurant and the refurbishment of the hotel are the result of a lot of hard work and it has really paid off – both look fantastic. The feedback from our guests during the launch was very positive and we made lots of bookings for the restaurant. People are excited about a Marco Pierre White restaurant being introduced to Leicester and I’m really pleased that it’s our team here at The Grand Hotel that has been able to do that.”
