This September Rainbows Children’s Hospice, the only children’s hospice to cover the East Midlands, celebrates its fifteenth birthday and they want to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all their supporters.
“It’s absolutely true to say that we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our volunteers, individual supporters and supporters from trusts, schools, businesses and other groups,” says Patricia Brookes, Director of Fundraising at Rainbows. “We felt that our fifteenth birthday should be marked by saying a huge thank you to each and every one of them.”
To that end a Thank You card, sponsored by local companies, has been sent out to thousands of people listed on the Rainbows’ database. At the Thank You awards ceremony, held during the 15th Birthday Party on 22nd September, there will be a chance to recognise key contributions.

Continues Patricia: “We are throwing a Birthday Party to celebrate our fifteen years and, although it will be impossible to get everyone along who has been involved, we will be inviting our families, volunteers and supporters from every walk of life. It will be a true Birthday Party with cake and plenty of fun – plus of course our Awards. The party is our way of saying thank you very, very much for all your help and support.
“The awards are designed to recognise everyone involved with Rainbows. The Awards themselves will take the form of a coloured glass block dedicated to each category and each one will be mounted in the Hospice’s ‘Wall of Celebration’.”
