Following a proposal submitted by Leicester City Council and Leicester Shire Promotions, Leicester will be hosting a pioneering conference that promotes cities that support cycling, walking and active lifestyles.
Held at Curve from 18th to 20th May 2016, the conference should attract delegates and expert speakers from all over the world including transport professionals and experts from the fields of regeneration, planning, business, health, tourism and information technology.
Delegates will be given the opportunity to tour the city by bike, taking in some of the improved cycle ways and footpaths developed as part of the Connecting Leicester scheme.
The conference will enable us to learn more about how we can support sustainable travel and there are plans to open out part of the Leicester 2016 conference to the public and schools, so that local people can get involved.
