The Giving Tree Returns to Lewisham Shopping Centre this Christmas
  • Lewisham Shopping Centre, Molesworth Street, London
    SE13 7HB
  • Thursday 21st November - Until Thursday 2nd January
Lewisham Shopping Centre has announced the return of its popular Giving Tree to support children and young people in Lewisham.

The centre has collaborated with two local organisations; Bank of Things, which aims to combat poverty and the lack of resources for young people in Lewisham, and The Salvation Army which provides support and advice for those tackling homelessness.

The Giving Tree is situated in Central Square, and donations can be made until 2nd January. Guests can choose a tag from the tree, detailing the child they’ll buy for, and head off to choose the perfect gift at one of Lewisham’s stores.

The appeal will be accepting thoughtful gifts including books, toys, or craft packs.

The return of The Giving Tree follows recent unveiling of Lewisham Shopping Centre’s new Christmas decorations. Named ‘The Floating Forest’, the decorations feature 14 recycled Christmas trees highlighted with accents of gold baubles and over 1,115m of twinkling lights. They also feature an all-new 2.5m wreath selfie with a branded neon ‘Love Lewisham’ sign which creates the perfect backdrop for a festive selfie moment.

What’s more, this Christmas Lewisham Shopping Centre’s Central Square will come alive with the sound of festive music. Choirs and musical ensembles, including The Rock Choir, Sonnet Wind Orchestra, and local primary and secondary schools will be performing at the centre throughout December, spreading cheer to shoppers and visitors.

During weekends throughout December, Wakuda, which supports independent Black-owned businesses, will be bringing their market to the North Mall at Lewisham Shopping Centre. Visitors will be able to discover and shop cultural gifts including candles, handmade jewellery and greeting cards from talented independent African and Caribbean brands.

To simplify Christmas shopping, Lewisham will once again have a gift-wrapping station, offering guests the opportunity to have their gifts wrapped free of charge when they spend over £50. The gift-wrapping service from Circle Collection will be available on 20th and 21st December between 11am-3pm.
