Lichfield Garrick Theatre is again working with businesses to help families who are suffering bereavement, illness, or trauma attend its socially-distanced pantomime this Christmas. Sponsored family tickets will be distributed to deserving people by local charities.
Following a very successful scheme in 2019, many disadvantaged families had a wonderful time visiting the theatre and were grateful for the opportunity provided by members of the business community who sponsored the tickets. This year, there will be even more families who have had a difficult year during the pandemic.
The Garrick are thrilled to be able to offer their reinvented panto after an uncertain year which involved six months of closure, which means the family ticket scheme can make a difference again in 2020.
Visiting the pantomime at Christmas is a festive tradition for many families and the Lichfield Garrick wants to make sure as many families as possible can enjoy the magic of pantomime. The Garrick’s ‘bite-sized’ production of Jack & The Beanstalk will be attended by over 12,000 people this year, but the theatre recognises that not everyone is in the position to attend by their own means. By supporting a disadvantaged family, businesses can make a huge difference and fulfil their corporate social responsibility aims.
Clare Lubrano, from Raphael Design, who are sponsoring a family ticket for the first time this year, said:
“We are delighted to be joining other businesses in supporting a family to make memories this Christmas.
Panto has always been a big part of Christmas for many children, so to offer this experience to families who without this initiative wouldn't have the opportunity is a great way to spread some happiness after this tough year.”
A spokesperson for Lichfield Food Bank, one of the charities who received tickets last year and will do again this Christmas, said:
“We are delighted to be offered Lichfield Garrick Sponsored Family Tickets again.
Last year our clients who received them were absolutely thrilled to be able to give their families such an amazing treat and our volunteers in the distribution centres were pleased to be able to pass them on to people for whom they really made a difference.”
Family ticket sponsors will be recognised in all press and social media coverage of the scheme. Lichfield Garrick Theatre enjoys a fantastic relationship with business partners and sponsors for many projects.
