Definitely worth a visit if you go to Lichfield, not a big cathedral as cathedrals go but plenty to look at and obviously very beautiful, makes a nice change that’s it’s free to enter (which all places of worship should be) which sadly as time goes by are becoming less and less across the country.
Always leave a donation though :-)

Very beautiful Catherdral inside and out. As I went in December there were a great many Christmas trees that had been decorated by many different schools, businesses, organistations for a charity competition and they were all lovely to see. The architecture is wonderful and it is truly worth a visit if you are in Lichfield.

Went to see a 'light show' they do from time to time inside the cathedral, have to say I'd never really looked that closely at the building itself. It is lovely inside, but outsdie can only be described as spectacular. We go on about historic sites in France and Italy etc, but this place is a 1000 years old and truly spectacular. Defintely worth a visit

Our visit took place on a cold and damp afternoon in November, but the welcome inside the Cathedral made us forget the weather outside. We were made to feel very welcome and were offered all the information and help to make the most of our visit. The building is very exceptional and we can't wait to visit again to see all the features we certainly would have missed on our first visit.

We moved to Lichfield a year ago and have been here three times now. A lovely peaceful place. I have previously been to Exeter cathedral and also the one at Birmingham. They all lovely and inspiring cathedrals. Whilst Exeter is a bit more commercial and still enjoyable I found this one more peaceful and you are able to enjoy the surroundings in a more thoughtful and low key atmosphere.

Beautiful, working cathedral at the centre of its community. Attended for a concert involving the children from the primary where I am a governor. Remarkable, spacious interior and a great example of what cathedrals contribute to their environs when they are run in the right way.

This beauty is not just architecturally and historically important, it still plays a major part in the community. Whether it is for the arts with concerts and art displays or children’s messy church, lichfield cathedral IS special and you should plan a visit. Make a day of it and enjoy the rest of lichfield too.

This is a really beautiful building, amazing architecture and we enjoyed looking around and learnt many interesting facts. It is free to go in, but they do ask for donations to help with the upkeep of the cathedral, which we gave willingly and I hope others do too as it's truly stunning but is expensive to keep open to the public.

A lovely place to visit, make sure you visit Chapter House, The South Transept in St Michael's Chapel where there are a number of Military Memorials for both the world wars. The Herkenrode Glass 16th century windows from the Abbey at Herkenrode are stunning. After your visit to the Cathedral make sure you walk around The Close surrounding the Cathedral.

Interesting place to visit and surrounding areas also good. Pleanty of places for breakfast, tea or coffee and cake along a lovely little street from back of cathedral called Dam Street. I choose the Olde Nook, very nice attentive service and good food

Visited today with hubby and wow what a Cathedral.

No entrance fee so we were happy to give a donation. Everyone we met was friendly and polite. However Gerald (Cathedral Volunteer) was exceptional. So much knowledge, friendly, approachable & wonderful sense of humour.

Fabulous medieval cathedral & particularly liked the Chapter House. We definitely need to return to view the library (currently under renovation).

Although the Nave was being set up for a function this evening, somehow it didn't detract from our enjoyment of this wonderful church.

Also visited The Cathedral Shop at No.9 and had a delicious lunch at Chapters, the Cafe in The Close.

Highly recommend.

The whole Cathedral area in Lichfield is gorgeous, and the Cathedral an architectural gem. We were lucky enough to arrive during a service and it was wonderful to join in the worship and absorb the atmosphere
