An experience of considerate projections and sound that illuminated a beautiful cathedral and highlighted world issues with brilliant cultural images and running commentary! The world music complimented each visual and (Gini) & I (Neil )enjoyed all thought provoking effort of the artist and exhibition. Very impressive from the outside. Free admission to get inside, although they do ask if you want to make a donation. Excellently kept inside with plenty of different things to look at, old and new. Definitely worth having a look if you have 30+ minutes spare.

I always love visiting the cathedral, it's stunning beauty in a picture perfect setting and Peter Walkers captivating World of Wonder only enhances it. An amazing evening and a fantastic job done by all the family. Can't wait for the Christmas show!

Although very much older, the Cathedral is notable for the most beautiful statues and artefacts that were incorporated during the Victorian era. A must see. Most definitely one of the most beautiful and complete cathedrals I have seen.

Every time I visit this beautiful cathedral it takes my breath away. I can only say it is superb architecturally inside and out. I am not particularly religious but I do feel awe inspired looking around. Pity we couldn't stay into the evening for the light exhibition - the photos of this event look spectacular. The coffee and gift shops are a bonus. Lucky Lichfield to have such a wonder on your doorstep. Hope to be back for another visit.

I work in Lichfield and I get to see this beautiful work of art each day and I feel so grateful for that! My most recent visit was to see the Turner painting on exhibition before its sale and even though that's not there anymore anyone and everyone needs to visit this beautiful cathedral! I love where it's situated and is kept so pristine all year round.

The three spires is well worth a visit. A beautiful gothic building that is as amazing to view from the inside as the out. You don't need to be religious to appreciate the value of a building such as this to the community of Lichfield. Great cakes at the Chapter Tea Rooms too!

Entrance is free. There are donation points scattered in the cathedral for you to give if you wish too.
We went on one of the tours which pointed out many features that you would otherwise miss. The tour usually lasts about 45 minutes but after nearly 75 minutes we had to leave as our car park ticket was nearly up, which was a shame.
The tour guide, Niel, was excellent as he explained various features in an easy going manner. Some guides in other places seem as if they are reading from a prepared script but not in this case. The information given was excellent and made our visit very informative.
Whilst waiting for the tour another volunteer explained other features and he was also very informative.

Absolutely love this cathedral. Visit on a sunny day and be stunned by the intricate carvings.

Just home from a lovely short stay,really enjoyed music for reflection yesterday with Jonathan on the organ.The cathedral is beautiful and always an awsome sight.It looked particularly lovely against the backdrop of blue skies we were blessed with yesterday.i always go at christmas,the Carol service is amazing,can always be sure of a warm welcome x

One of the more stunning Cathedrals we have seen in Europe. The history of St Chad, the stunning architecture, and beautiful stained glass windows give a sense of holiness that is hard to describe. It's the only Cathedral with three spires in England - but it's much more than that which makes it special. And the tea room adjacent to the Cathedral is equally special as is the short walk to St Chad's well where he baptised his converts in 699 AD. Go here ... you will not be disappointed!

This is one of those massive cathedrals steeped in civil war history. My husband, who tends to read all the information available, found some amazing stonework where the soldiers had sharpened their swords of the faces of the figures, literally defacing them. The only thing I would take issue with was that the cathedral claimed (on various notices) that is costs £5,000 per day to maintain iself for us visitors. I found this a very odd statement and cynically felt the full force of the implication for the hoped-for size of the donation, it is quite dirty on the outside, and you would think for that price they would give it a bit of a clean! I wish they would give me the contract, it would be fun to have a go. Lots of nice cafes nearby.

See from the approach this cathedral is very imposing. The actual building is rather dark and austere. There is a lot of history but unless a guide is available it is rather an off putting experience to explore at detail.

Beautiful building made even better by the fabulous team of volunteer guides who are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Simple but effective upstairs chapel dedicated to St Chad.

The St Chad Gospels are probably the greatest treasure of the cathedral, along with the Lichfield Angel which was possibly associated with that saint's relics.
But there are many other interesting things to see, in particular the many memorials. I would recommend a guided highlights tour (free) which take place twice a day.

Impressive cathedral, mystifing atmosphaire, free entrance, touch-screens with all the information you need. Extras the coffee shop and the gift shop across the road. And all these in the idyllic scenery of Lichfield centre. Definately a must go, even if you are not so religious.
Ps: leave your car at the big parking space entering the city centre and walk, it is a wonderful place to go on foot.(parking fee only 1£ for the whole day on Sundays)

Seen from afar, it's three spires stand out magnificently, and the church loses none of its majesty up close.
It's easy to walk all the way around in the peaceful lanes and take it all in, with the front on the green particularly impressive.
Entry is free, although they will ask for a donation at the desk as you go in.
Inside, there is a lot to take in, with a spectacular nave and quire, as well as small chapels tucked away.
There is a lovely welcoming atmosphere and everyone seems at ease.

This was my first visit since my parents dragged me round as a child some forty years ago. The cathedral has been cleaned since, making the building even more impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed a really interesting couple of hours looking round as there is so much to see.
We also had a delicious afternoon tea in the cathedral Close.

Lichfield is a lovely quaint place to visit. The cathedral is wonderful and tranquil to look around. After walk through beacon park. Try the cafes along the cobbled streets nearby
