I visited this cathedral during my visit to Lichfeild way back in 2014. This was a wonderful experience. I was happy to see how they have maintained such an old Cathedral. They had volunteers inside to explain the history of the cathedral to people that visit. There was a marble stone inside which had inscribed names of those who died fighting during world war I. I was happy to see an Indian name on it because I'm from India. Its wonderful to know that the British remember those who fought for them. I was in Lichfeild for a very short time but every morning that I was there I could hear the bells ring from the Cathedral, the St. Marys Church (which is now a museum) which is nearby and then the St. Micheal Church. The sound of the bells in the morning when you pass by the stowe pool is magical. This Cathedral is beautiful, with its tinted glass windows, articles with historic significance. Its beautiful from both outside and inside. A nice place for prayer too. There is a small fleet of stairs that leads to a chapel.

I would have given it six stars, as it's simply a magnificent Gothic style Cathedral. Normally, when I'm here, I've usually been herding a group of teenagers, and ensuring that they're both well behaved and respectfully quiet. Such a pleasure to wander around on my own, especially with the added bonus of the Turner Exhibition.

Beautiful building in a wonderful location, also very peaceful and a lovely place to just sit and contemplate no matter if you are of a religious bent or not, fascinating history, helpful staff and if you're so inclined a nice tea room /restaurant and a good gift shop close by, the rest of Lichfield is close by so could be incorporated into a really nice day out.

A very beautiful place of worship to visit. With a 1300 year history it is brimming with things to see and do. From tiny people's messy church to celebration of services daily and concerts and historical lectures. Week worth a visit. With only a request for a donation which you can afford.
