The staff at the Cathedral were wonderful. Informative and keen to share their knowledge. I was not aware of the historical side of the place before visiting there.

Apparently the only Cathedral in England with three spires (towers). Beautiful and unusual Cathedral. Very helpful and knowledgeable guides. Wonderful stained glass windows.

We have visited Lichfield Cathedral on 3 occasions. It is a truly memorable experience and you are made to feel so welcome by those who work there. It is also one of the few Cathedrals that do not charge an entrance fee. There is so much to see there of historical importance ; the Anglo Saxon hoard , the amazing stained glass windows, the shrine of St Chad, the beautiful Lady Chapel and early eight century manuscripts. We felt very privileged to be there.

This is a brilliant place to go. Look out for the tomb of the bishop( near the font) who is just a skeleton. The anglo saxon jewellery is amazing. The widows tell stories and my children were fascinated

Beautiful building,we were lucky to time our visit today at 2pm when there was a free guided visit, which was lead by Robert,(think that was his name) Anyway,it was a very interesting talk, which was fresh and enthusiastic, I was the guy on the mobility scooter and I was able to get to all the places where Robert described the buildings history.Well done.

We called in on spec while passing through and found the quality of display and interpretation of items of great antiquity to be way beyond anywhere else we have visited. From the welcome at the door and throughout our visit the team were quietly attentive and answered questions skilfully.

Not only the cathedral is well worth visiting but the Erasmus Darwin museum nearby is well worth a visit too. If you have younger children the park is a great place to go to. There also plenty of nice shops and a lot of very nice cafes. The market on Saturday offers a good selection of items. If you want to dine in the evening plenty of choice too. I recommend both the Thai restaurants.

I have seen many churches and cathedrals around the world and I think Lichfield is up there among some of the best of them. Lichfield has also other places of interest to visit as well as many cafes to make a very pleasant day out.

I have visited this beautiful Cathedral many times, and always find it a place peace and tranquillity. It is a fabulous building. Recently the stained glass Windows have been away to be cleaned, they are now back in place and are magnificent..
We have taken friends and family when they came to visit us and they all really enjoyed it.

A beautiful 3 spired cathedral , there's a reasonably recent discovery of an angel under the floor , fascinating history linked to Lichfield and the cathedral

Wonderful building nestling in to the cathedral close. Spectacular stained glass windows and choir screen. Just as interesting in the summer as in the winter and the carol concerts are not to be missed but arrive early or you won't get a seat.

Just plain lovely
... really something special, just check before arriving if they had a service as on the day we went they did and it reduced the amount of time we could spend looking around.

It is well worth visiting Lichfield Cathedral right now to see the new icons, which were installed last week (August 2016). They were created by the Bethlehem Icon Centre over the summer, under the directorship of Ian Knowles, with a team of three of his students from Bethlehem.

The icons depict the Annunciation, and are displayed on each side near the front of the nave. Information about the work of the Centre can be found at its website.

A short explanatory booklet is available, and the icons can also be obtained as postcards. There are plans to make them into Christmas cards in time for the festive season. Ask at the Cathedral Bookshop in The Close for details.

This is our second visit to the Cathedral just so we could take in everything ,it really is a beautiful building. You just have take your time and its the sort of place which is so peaceful so take a seat and enjoy. Just one point although this is a free visit they do like donations but at no point are you pressured into giving.

What a find! We weren't expecting the lovely atmosphere as well as a history lesson. The building itself is most impressive but inside it didn't feel austere but warm. In one of the chapels had been placed St Chad's gospel - the oldest still in use (I hope I recall that right!). There was a screen on which my daughter could digitally flick through pages of the gospel and look at the illuminated script. Also here were replicas from the Staffordshire Hoard. The lady on duty was really informative about how the cloisonne pieces were made. If we'd got ourselves organised, we could have stayed for Sunday afternoon evensong.

My partner her mum and I recently visited Lichfield Cathedral in August on a lovely summers day.

Lichfield Cathedral is such a magnificent building with a unique and fascinating history to it, the volunteers who work here are extremely knowledgeable and so approachable.

There is a lovely gift shop opposite the Cathedral and a wonderful coffee shop adjacent to the church called chapters, we hope to visit the Cathedral during the xmas period when the Cathedral will be decorated for the xmas services.

A very quick visit here on way back from weekend break. The architecture on the front entrance is just amazing. The interior is splendid and impressive. There is a gallery chapel which apart from being quite unusual is very quiet and a good place for reflection. The staff are friendly and helpful. Does it pass the Chorltonlad test? i.e. would I go back. Yes. But I'd spend a bit longer next time.
