Had the priviledge of seeing Jon Lord perform live here. Such a beautiful building have been back many times since. Not religious but this place still does stir the soul.

The cathedral stands near the main shopping area and is within reach by means of an easy stroll. There is a large lake next to it and around the square, where the cathedral sits are some very lovely buildings, which all make for a great setting. The cathedral itself is outstanding and an absolute credit to the designers and builders of such a magnificent piece of architecture. If you are in Lichfield you must go and see it.

The architecture and historic plaques left by patrons. We also saw the Staffordshire Hoard exhibition and there was also photography exhibition. I liked the gargoyles on the outside, though some were restored others not.

Lichfield Cathedral is a beautiful, majestic example of Gothic architectural style. The carvings on the outside and the steeples are of fine manual work. The Folds of stone around the entrance, and the arches inside is proof of typical Gothic style of great care of artistic workmanship. the stained glass on most of the windows is beautifully portrayed, and the colors are vivid and bright lighting up the Cathedral on a sunny day.It is a must see attraction, especially for people interested in architecture and history. It is a beautifully preserved piece of art. other than its ancient Medieval history in the world of religion and the part it played at the time of its structure.

I love the cathedral and go about once a year. I would love for guides to just hang around and drop snippets of amazing information but sadly they don't. Or boards would do but I guess this would spoil the look of the place a bit. It's just it has so much weird and wonderful history which I learnt in primary school and can't quite remember now.
The building is breathtaking and there are so many little rooms with interesting bits and bobs in. I always leave feeling I didn't see half of it (in a good way).
Worth a special trip, I take the 3 and 5 year old on occasion and they sort of like it but not for very long as you would expect so don't plan to be there ages with kids.
By the way I am not religious, I just visit because it's near and a great building so don't let lack of religion stop you. It costs the price of a donation to go in.

We stayed on Dam St. Facing the cathedral. So we had the pleasure to visit all hours. We done a night walk around to add a bit spook to the place. With all it's statues mounted on its walls it certainly gave it that feeling. During the day it was good to see the beauty inside & out. Camera pass is £2 defo worth getting that. It's free to go in and donations can be given at the end. Tours are available I believe.

Well worth a visit if you are travelling through the Midlands. Easy access from the centre of a real market town too. The grave of the first Anglican Archbishop of New Zealand can be found on site and a chapel to him also

Lichfield Cathedral is an architectural gem full of history. I sand there in the 1960's as part of the Midlands School Choirs Annual Choral Event and have loved it ever since

You would think that British cathedrals are much of a muchness but, having visited a few recently, I'd say this is definitely the best. No admission charge strikes a welcome start and the visitor gladly makes a contribution with a better grace than having to buy a ticket. A friendly welcome from a guide who puts an extremely informative leaflet into your hand greatly facilitates the visit. And the signage is excellent throughout the cathedral. We found it very interesting. (The Chapter House does an impressive lunch too)

A piece of history which when you live in the area is often dismissed as too local to visit. The architechture is magnificent and there is plenty of opportunity to learn on a visit to the Cathedral.

The Cathedral is very Gothic and looks spectacular from outside. Very nice stained glass windows inside and some amazing statues inside. Im not a religious person but it was a nice visit and especially as its not far at all from the city centre. I love the tea shop & cafes in the centre, try the Tudor Row!

The side views were good but when you see the front - wow! The inside is equally impressive. This cathedral rivals that of Milan and many great cities
