Wow. When you need work done no one really wants a stranger to carry it out but that’s a necessity we stomach. With T. Smith’s roofing that was not the case! I felt that I was really involved with the project; working with old friends. I couldn’t praise their work anymore, the class, efficiency and personality of the work was beyond my greatest expectations. 20 stars out of10! Tom is an excellent communicator, keeps you informed at all stages of what needs doing and when it is happening. His team are highly competent and pleasant. (Even the neighbours commented on this). They arrive on time, work hard and make sure things are done to a high standard - even working late into the evening on one occasion to ensure the roof was watertight when rain was forecast amd tiles hadn't yet been put on. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Charged £1750 for a single days work to repair a leaking conservatory. Roof still leaks and totally disinterested in coming back to do the job properly. No way would I recommend or trust this outfit to do any type of work. Avoid at all costs, you’ll regret it if you use these as it’s just not worth the hassle or expense. Go somewhere else is my honest and personal advice.

Hi Kevin, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We would like to say we do respect and appreciate everyone's views and opinions. As discussed on our phone call conversation we do think wires maybe crossed. To start with you mentioned we worked on your conservatory, but to clarify we did not go near your conservatory. The work under taken on your property was in a completely different area. The job we carried out was to try and alleviate penetrating water coming into the cupboard next to the conservatory. As you were not present during my visit, I explained and went through everything with your wife. We came out to the property twice before we priced the job, in order to investigate and identify where the water was coming from. We had gathered due to your property being located on a steep hill, the table water rises when we get heavy volumes of water which penetrates from the landscaped area from the earth around your property, coincidently running into the property when the rain is very heavy, as we explained. We stated at the start of the job that we could only dig so far to identify where the water was getting in, and we did this successfully, finding signs of water penetration into your property. We also showed you photographs of this finding. After the job had finished, we did again clarify to your wife, due to complications of the leak you have had, we could not guarantee this leak would not occur again from a different area. It was our understanding your wife fully understood this conversation after the job had finished. Several weeks later you did contact us to say the water was still getting in however not as much as previously. We did offer to come back as complimentary to further investigate where the other area of water penetration was. However, you did reject this. If there is anything else we can help with in the future, please kindly let us know. Thanks, Tom.

Last lockdown our solid conservatory roof started to leak - it was like a waterfall into a carpeted room! We did get 3 quotes - all about the same amount to replace the roof. However, Tom Smith got the job. Nothing was too much trouble. He kept us updated on who was arriving, when, and what they would do. This was particularly important due to social distancing. The mature experienced workmen gave me every confidence in the work, which has a 10 year guarantee. It was not easy to see how the water was getting in, so until we took the roof off we did not know the extent of the problem. It was then clearly explained, and we are very pleased with the resulting new roof. Now 10 months on and even in this severe weather we are confident that we don't have to find buckets! They even ensured that the patio and garden were covered and maintained throughout the work.
