Went on a group trip with Members of the Military Welfare and Support Group.
The purpose was to visit the Memorials of The Armed Forces who were killed during their Service.
t was extremely informative, albeit very, very Emotional.
The Memorials and Areas are kept Beautiful, Clean and Tidy.
Also the Gardens themselves are a credit to those who tend them.

It was a day of surprises. The car park fee was reasonable and visiting the memorial was an amazing experience. The down side was the Sat-Nav directed us onto the M6 toll road for a few miles which cost £4.40!

If you`ve not been to this amazing place yet, then make this summer the time to go. As you walk through the grounds you can feel a sense of calm and love.....of respect and gratitude.... of poignant thoughts.....a stillness and an appreciation of the beauty of the place and a fascination discovering the history behind the memorials. The grounds are extensive so don`t think you`ll see everything on one visit. If you have a particular interest, then ask one one the super helpful volunteers for their advice. There is a very moving short service in the chapel near the Visitor Centre at 11am daily. Much work has been done to improve the existing Visitor Centre with the addition of a brilliant Exhibition Hall featuring memorials world wide. A new corporate centre close by is also nearing completion. There is an excellent restaurant serving snacks and delicious meals and a shop selling beautiful quality gifts. There is a buggy available if you need a bit of help.

If you are looking for an educational day out with old and young alike - this is the place to go. The inside is fantastic with loads to learn as you walk around and if the weather is good. A walk around all the memorials is very poignant. Don’t worry if you have mobility issues - there’s plenty of transport options to get you around. Loads of friendly volunteers to guide you and give you further insights too. The food is magnificent and the toilets very clean. Definitely recommend a visit!

This is an amazing experience, thousands of motor cycles get together to remember the fallen. We partake in this every year & it just gets better & better. So much to see, visit & learn about years past & present & about the different battles that have occurred. Everybody is made welcome, old & young & being part of a motor cycle club is like having extended family, just like our servicemen & women.

Peaceful, nostalgic and thought provoking site. Spacious grounds very well maintained. There are numerous memorials to the dedication of hero's from lots of organisations other than military memorials. Everywhere is spotless from entrance, cafe, WC and exhibits.

An excellent memorial.
I defy anyone not to get emotional when one realises how much blank space there is on the Wall, that will gradually fill up.

The national arboretum is very well placed just off the A38 it’s well signposted. There is a mixture of maturing trees and momorials to the armed forces set in the Staffordshire countryside. The only charge there is is for parking it cost us £3 the entrance is in a large building containing a shop, restaurant and reception. You have options to go on a guided tour or hire head phones we just used the free map and explored the expansive site. We said that we would revisit the site in a couple of years time all in all it’s well worth a visit

Really found this an enlightening experience. I was under the impression all the memorials were military oriented but there are many other tributes as well. The place is beautifully kept and obviously the people who work and volunteer there are very proud of their surroundings and treat everywhere with great respect. A must to do whilst you are there is a visit to the chapel at about 10.45am as everyday a service is held at 11am which is only a short service but very moving and a guide will give a really informative talk about the arboretum and how it came together.

Visited several times. Although lots of cars never feels crowded. Lots of peaceful areas that is an amazing memorial. The grounds well maintained and paths easy to walk with plenty of seating. Lots of time for thought. Could spend a fair few hours wandering around. It is a stark reminder of those that we lost and that we have a place to remember

Set in extensive grounds, this is well worth visiting whether you have a specific memorial to see or just to wander around. I first took the land train which drives around the main areas/memorials and has an audio commentary. This helped to give an idea of the scale of the site and the location of some of the memorials I wanted to return to on foot. All the staff I encountered were extremely helpful and friendly. The place has a very tranquil atmosphere, is very thought provoking but not sombre.

A beautiful building both inside and out. Despite it being very busy with tourists it was still possible to find a quiet spot to sit and admire. The current installation of paper doves commemorating the end of WW1 is very striking. The cloisters are quite large, with one section being used as a cafe. I paid £6.50 to enter, although this is a suggested 'donation' it feels more like an entrance fee as you have to pass the ticket booth to get in. There were plenty of guides around to give information if needed.

Visited for a few hours with the dog, there is a set dog track you can follow, it runs around the edge of the grounds, so visiting some of the memorials I could not do, there is a nice quiet atmosphere here very peaceful, the staff are friendly and there is good facilities on site plus free entry, will visit again without the dog so I can see more.

The place it's self has been excellently done.
But the food was disgusting.
Either dried up or cold and tastles. At lunch time.
The only thing that was tasty was scone,s we had just before we left.
Will go back to look round but will take own food.
Not paying those prices for food we cannot eat.

We called in en route home from Chatsworth House. We expected to stay for an hour or so, but the extent and number of memorials to not only fallen armed forces members, but also the police, the fire service, lifeboat men and women etc. demands more detailed attention. New memorials are constantly being added. Even though we haven't lost friends or relatives in combat, it's impossible not to be moved by the sheer number of individuals remembered here. The volunteer staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. Entrance is free and the parking charge is only £3 per day, so you really can stay as long as you like. We took the paid for land train tour which helped to gain an appreciation of the size and scope of the site.

This stunning development is an active testament to all who served their country in every capacity through British history.

An honorable tribute.

I've wanted to visit here for some time and I wasn't disappointed. Everyone should visit here at least once and see the commitment and dedication of people, to ensure that the legacy of those, who gave their lives, in defence of our Country are remembered in the correct way. It is still maturing and as it is basically run as a charitable trust, it relies heavily on the support of the public. There are many moving and emotional tributes and none more so, than the main central area, with it's circular walls, highlighting all those that have died since WW2, but even more emotional, is the fact that there are blank panels too, awaiting the potentially never ending list in the future.
