Loved this.
Such a beautiful place and so enlightening.
Lovely cafe to get a nibble.
Such nice staff too.
Worth going. Will definitely make it a place to visit more often.

Toilets: So clean and there are enough of them around. No waiting on a line.

Dog-friendliness: Lovely for dogs.
Yet not seen dog poo all over like other places I've been.
Water bowls for dogs around.

The arboretum is an absolutely wonderful place to visit , and it’s free to get in , car parking was £4 for the day . As I cannot walk for more than a few yards I was going to take my powered chair , my batteries were low , so we hired a scooter for the day , bargain at £10 for the day , the staff mainly volunteers were fantastic and sorted us out in minutes . They rely on donations and very good people as volunteers , most of whom are very knowledgeable about the site ! We did the longest walk which was a kilometre each way and the memorials were stunning all set among beautifully kept grounds and with part being alongside the river Trent . Many of the memorial’s were set among the trees , I couldn’t get to some but my partner could and some of those were heartbreaking with thousands of names not all armed forces but civilians as well , we listened to the shot at dawn memorial talk and it was heartbreaking to hear stories of young men who went to war with a false sense of heroism to break down with ptsd and not all of them were of age to fight some as young as 14 , were shot . This definitely brings into perspective the amount of folk , men women and children that died for this country and it’s freedoms .
The monument on the hill commemorating our armed services personnel lost since 1947 and updated yearly , apparently 2023 was the only year no names were up there . They also commemorate all allies , polish , Sikh , Canadian, anzacs and many others too numerous to mention but never forgotten , a haunting and beautiful place not just for families of the fallen but for anyone who wishes to pay homage to those people who died for our freedoms .
There is a lovely restaurant and coffee shop on site serving lovely meals drinks and cakes . And a gift shop selling a range of items.
There are remembrance gardens and quiet haunting spaces to ponder , at this time of year the trees are a fabulous tapestry of colours and if the sun shines all the better , a truly wonderful experience looked after by dedicated people who truly care what they are doing and are so kind , helpful and willing to chat !

Along with 15000 other ex-military bikers I attend the annual 'Ride to the Wall' event and had an amazing time. The Monuments themselves are beautiful, and the grounds were impeccably clean and tidy. A lovely testament to our fallen

£4 parking or £6 on the day, we went on a tour, excellent at £7.50, there is a good restaurant with fair prices, very friendly and helpful staff. This is a very moving place to visit. There are lots of volunteers about to help find memorials. Everyone should go to thank our wonderful armed forces

An amazing place with many knowledgeable volunteers around . Visited on two days which was needed to cover the whole area. Land train with commentary gave a good overview of most of site . At 11.00 everyday short moment of Remembrance held in the beautiful Chapel followed by a short talk on the past, present and future of the Arboretum. Good cafe serving hot and cold food. There is a Stickman trail for young children to follow. Highly recommend visiting the National Arboretum.

Lovely sunny day and pleasant walk around the national memorial arboretum. It’s sad to think that so many service personnel have been lost in the pursuit of noble aims, but a fitting epitaph to their memory and sacrifice.

Ride to the wall October. Over 7,000 motorbikes raising money for the fallen. What a great place this is, been on my bucket list for awhile. The grounds are well kept with plenty of seating around so you can take time to sit and reflect. The walls with the names of the fallen make you realise how lucky we are and sad they didn't make it home. There is a large cafe and a museum, it's not very large but good to see. Public transport on the day is not good as the road going into Alrewas village is closed because of all the bikes. So I had to get off the bus at another village and come back, as I bus takes a different route it comes in on another road to the Alrewas village. There is a bit of a walk from the bus stop. Maybe they need a shuttle bus from Lichfield

Took a party of 33 to NMA today. Volunteer guides were informative, funny, professional and very helpful sorting out timings due to our late arrival. The lunch was excellent with good choices of meals and vegetables cooked to perfection. An excellent day out.

I attended a part of the Ride To The Wall.
It was emotional and well attended. The venue had flooded two days before 12500 people turned up on 7500 motorcycles. Despite that the venue was beautifully presented and a real oasis of calm and reflection. Cafes toilets prices .... nothing to complain about... all reasonable prices, clean and plentiful.
Thanks you NMA and RTTW for getting me there.
