The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum is delighted to be launching their new blog today.
The blog will feature posts about life at the museum, highlighted objects from the museum’s extensive collection, and information about forthcoming events.
“We want the blog to provide a glimpse of life behind the scenes at the Birthplace,” Joanne Wilson, Heritage Officer for Lichfield City Council, said. “The Birthplace is a vibrant museum and we wanted an accessible way to share our work here with people both in Lichfield and beyond.”
Blog posts will be provided by the museum’s staff and volunteers however contributions are also invited from researchers interested in Johnson’s life, works or wider literary fellowships, as well as from local historians interested in eighteenth-century life in Lichfield and the surrounding area.
“We are really interested in hearing from anyone whose family might have a connection to Johnson or to the Birthplace,” said Joanne.
