Broadway & Beyond at the Lichfield Garrick
Following last year’s hugely successful run of Guys and Dolls, Walsall Operatic Society is back at the Lichfield Garrick with a relaxing evening of music from West End, classic musicals and films.
The evening will begin and end with a few popular chorus numbers including hits from Les Miserables, Pirates of Penzance, The Full Monty, and Fiddler on the Roof. The middle section of the cabaret evening will be open to the audience to request solos or group numbers they would like to hear.
Walsall Operatic Society is a group of talented amateur singers, performing musical shows and concerts in the Walsall and Lichfield areas. The group have many young members who not only sing but also get involved with choreography, piano accompaniment and musical direction. 21 year-old society member, Charlotte Mills is the Musical Director for this concert is also an excellent solo singer.
The society is working to increase their audience base in the Lichfield. In the last 12 months the group performed outside the Cathedral as part of the Lichfield Festival, and in December they sang carols in Market Square as part of the Lichfield Christmas Festival.
This show promises to be an entertaining and sociable evening out, and the 'Cabaret Style' seating in the Garrick Studio will give the audience the chance to relax with a drink whilst enjoying a variety of performances.
