Last year Treecycle raised more than £10,500 to help fund the work of the charity, which supports patients living with diseases which may not be curable and their families .
Philippa Graty corporate fundraiser at St Giles Hospice, said: “Treecycle is a wonderful, popular annual campaign which allows us to raise vital funds to support our work while giving local families an environmentally-friendly way to dispose of their unwanted Christmas trees after the festivities are over.
“Every year we rely on the support of local businesses running corporate social responsibility schemes to help us collect and chip old Christmas trees from homes and workplaces in Lichfield, Burton, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth, Walsall and surrounding areas in return for a donation to the hospice.
“Last year we had more than 35 volunteers helping us out on the roads collecting trees and this year we are hoping to collect even more trees if we can muster enough willing hands to help.”
This year St Giles Hospice is particularly looking for drivers and drivers’ mates who can get out and collect the trees.
Families and businesses across the region can register to have their trees collected until Friday, 4TH January 2019 at 12pm. The tree collection will then take place between Monday 7th and Friday 11th January 2019.
Phillippa added: “There are lots of ways your business can support the Christmas Treecycle campaign. This can include supporting your local hospice and boosting your staff morale by collecting trees for us, or simply doing your bit by asking us to remove trees from your home or office.
“You can even help us to fund the tree collection – and get your company's name and logo out to the public – by sponsoring this year’s Treecycle campaign.”
