More than 150 people recently took a break from their Christmas shopping and sang-along to some of their favourite Christmas carols at Beacon Park’s Carols in the Park event.
Abbie Hammant, Annie Talbot and Ruby Morrigan, from Chadsmead Primary School Recorder Group, played four brilliant festive tunes on their recroders, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Thanks to Lichfield Round Table, Santa Claus also dropped by on his sleigh to wish everyone a merry Christmas and to draw the raffle. All the prizes from the raffle were kindly donated by local businesses.
Councillor Val Richards, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: “I am delighted it went so well and that lots of people came along to add their voices to Carols in the Park. I am sure it got lots of people in the festive spirit.”
Carols in the Park was organised by Lichfield District Council’s heritage parks team and the charity Making Space
