The National Moment of Reflection will be honoured at 8pm giving people a collective opportunity to reflect on Her Majesty’s life and legacy on the eve of her funeral.
At Lichfield Cathedral a minute’s silence and outdoor vigil will be held and in Burntwood a minute’s silence and vigil will be observed at Chasetown Memorial Park, High Street, Chasetown.
Everyone is welcome to attend the gatherings and is asked to arrive by 7.55pm.
People across the Lichfield District who wish to sign a Book of Condolence in honour of HM Queen Elizabeth II but are unable to visit a venue where they are being held, are now able to submit their tribute via email.
Lichfield District Council has opened a dedicated address - condolences@lichfielddc.gov.uk.
Each tribute should feature the name, home city or town and comment of the person offering condolences and will be printed and submitted for inclusion in the official Books of Condolence for the county’s records.
The Books of Condolence will close at 5pm on Tuesday 20 September, the day after Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
