Dispelling The Myth That Private Medical Insurance Is Too Expensive

Private medical insurance is not as expensive as it once was. Insurers have worked hard to make this more affordable with a range of plans that will suit most budgets and over the last few years private medical insurance has become a very competitive sector.

Like most other insurance policies private medical insurance is an annual policy which typically costs more each year, but unlike most insurances, people don’t tend to shop around when the annual renewal arrives and loyalty doesn’t always mean you are being offered the best premium.

In the past people have been cautious of switching to a new provider in case existing conditions are not covered, but this is not necessarily the case anymore.

So, if you have been with your current provider for a while or you have never considered finding out about private medical insurance it is well worth taking a look at what options insurers, including your existing provider, are offering and then you can make an informed choice on whether the switch or not.

Researching the private medical insurance providers, what they offer and the different policies can be time consuming and this is something that your Adviser can do on your behalf.

Private medical insurance is not a replacement for the NHS but it does give you access to services that on the NHS you would normally have to wait for such as seeing a consultant, knee and hip replacements, cataracts and many other conditions.
