Chasewater June events
From a teddy bears’ picnic to a summer guided walk, there’s plenty to keep you busy at Chasewater Country Park this June
Lichfield District Council’s parks team is hosting a Teddy Bears' Picnic on Saturday 16 June between 1pm and 4pm. It costs 50p per bear and there will be lots of games and a prize for the best dressed ted.
The event will take place on the grassy area between the Innovation Centre and play area. However, if it rains the picnic will be held inside the Innovation Centre.
Then on Sunday 24 June, women over 16 years of age are invited to bring their bikes to Chasewater and take part in a Breeze Cycle Ride for free.
Meeting at Chasewater Innovation Centre at 10.30am, the gentle cycle ride will take around one and a half hours and will follow designated cycle tracks and the canal.
Also taking place on Sunday, there's the Summer Solstice Walk, setting off from Chasewater Innovation Centre at 7.30pm. The walk is free and suitable for all ages.
Councillor Val Richards, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: “There is plenty to keep visitors of all ages busy at Chasewater Country Park this June.
“On top of the fantastic walks, go-kart track, boating lake and crazy golf course, our parks team organises a varied programme of outdoor activities. I hope the weather is fine and that everyone enjoys their visit to the beautiful country park.”

The parks team is also running an origami workshop at Burntwood Library on Saturday 23 June, between 10am and 1pm. This free event is a chance to create one of the thousand origami flames that will be floated on Minster Pool in the evening of the day the Olympic Torch Relay passes through Lichfield District (Saturday 30 June).
