Fund Raising & Trek Training for St Giles Hospice on Cannock Chase

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks since our last blog.  David has now retired and we are trying to walk between 2 and 5 miles every day so the cars are staying on the drive most days!  Today we did a nine and a half mile walk from Brocton, across Cannock Chase, then via a section of the Trent and Mersey canal to the Shugborough Estate returning to Brocton via Milford and open countryside.  We are so lucky to have such beautiful and varied walking conditions so close to home.

On the fund raising front we held a Pamper Day at home on Sunday raising £347 for the Hospice.  Thank you to our beauticians Hayley and Leanne and holistic therapist Barbara for giving up their time on Father’s Day to help.  A good time was had by all and plenty of cake and cups of tea and coffee were consumed.  The raffle was well supported – thank you to Annie Day of Heaven Scent Bliss for giving a £50 voucher for 1st prize.

I’m looking forward to Saturday’s Solstice Walk when we attempt to break the record for the largest gathering of fairies in one place.  You can see me dressed up as a fairy on our justgiving website!  If anybody wishes to sponsor me this can be done on the website.  We have reached 57% of our target of £10,000 now, all donations count so please help us with this worthy cause.
