As the weather is currently proving, we’re now very much into winter and what better way to kick off the festive season than with a guided walk around the historic Cathedral Close ending up at Erasmus Darwin House for mulled wine and mince pies. The tour, given by a knowledgeable volunteer of the museum, starts at the House and takes you around the Close while pointing out the fascinating buildings and events in its rich past.
This event, taking place on both 10th and 17th December at 2pm, is part of the museums Christmas events programme which includes birthday celebrations for the big man himself on Sunday 12th December.
Booking is advised for the tours as spaces are limited so please drop in to the museum or call the office on 01543 306260 if you would like to reserve tickets. But on Erasmus Darwin’s birthday please feel free to just drop in to the museum between 11am and 4pm to enjoy carol singers from St Michaels School, fun Christmas activities and a refreshing drink in our tea room. The birthday cake will be cut at 12.30pm so don’t miss out!
